Manor, Main partner of the Locarno Film Festival since 2001

Dear friends of the Locarno Film Festival, 

“Now more than ever we need to talk to each other, to listen to each other and understand how we see the world, and cinema is the best medium for doing this.” This quote comes from world-famous director Martin Scorsese, and which, in my eyes, is extremely appropriate during these stormy times. After almost a year and a half facing a healthcare crisis, working from home and lockdowns, we long for normality and togetherness.  

And what could make us dream and captivate us more than a new edition of the Locarno Film Festival?  

Whether we are sitting in front of the screen in silent darkness, or participating in a lively discussion about a film we have just seen: in Locarno we take time out from everyday life and face the world with hope, positivity and energy. We exchange views and ideas, talk to each other and listen to each other. 

Manor is proud to have been one of the main sponsors of the Locarno Film Festival for 20 years. We want to support, promote and celebrate art and culture. We want to continue enjoying unforgettable moments with you in the Piazza Grande, watching wonderful films in your company. And for a fortnight, we want to share with you our vision of the world: a world that is colorful, hopeful and full of exciting and impressive films.
