Backed by a sound tradition of cinephilia, Axelle Ropert has directed three films: The Wolberg Family (2009), presented at the Cannes Directors’ Fortnight; Miss and the Doctors (2013), selected at the Busan International Film Festival and The Apple of My Eye (2016), in Concorso internazionale at the Locarno Film Festival. She has also directed two medium-length films, Étoile violette (2005) and Truffaut au présent (2014). She has written screenplays for Serge Bozon - La France (2007), Tip Top (2013) and Mrs. Hyde (2017), as well as upcoming films directed by Blandine Lenoir and Patric Chiha. Since 2018, her films and other works have been the subject of retrospectives at prestigious international festivals in Argentina, Sweden and Spain, and in February 2020, she was awarded a "carte blanche" at the Cinémathèque Française. She is currently involved in the production of her new feature, Little Solange, with Jade Springer, Léa Drucker and Philippe Katerine and the production by Aurora Films.
