Leonor da Silveira Moreno de Lemos Gomes (Lisbon, 1970) studied International Relations at the Lusíada University. Her career as an actress began in 1989 with Os Canibais by Manoel de Oliveira. She appeared in most of Oliveira's subsequent films, including Valley of Abraham (1993), Party (1996), A Talking Picture (2003) and Magic Mirror (2005). She also worked with other Portuguese directors, such as João Botelho (O Cinema, Manoel de Oliveira e Eu was presented at Locarno Film Festival in 2016), Joaquim Pinto, Vicente Jorge Silva, João Nicolau, Carlos Conceição, Marco Martins and Tiago Guedes. Silveira was named Commander of the Order of Merit, awarded in 1997 by the President of the Portuguese Republic, Jorge Sampaio, as well as the Chevalier Order des Arts et des Lettres, awarded by the French Republic.
