1987: mentre gli altri studenti si chiedono se sia un ragazzo o una ragazza, Robin intesse un complicato legame con il bullo della scuola, compiendo scelte sempre più rischiose pur di inserirsi nell’ambiente.

Da adolescente in Canada, negli anni Ottanta, spesso mi chiedevano: «Ma sei un ragazzo o una ragazza?». Avrei voluto lasciare quella domanda sospesa in aria, senza risposta, come fa Robin nel film.
