Un principe conserva il ricordo di un grande amore, quando compare la figlia sconosciuta, anch’essa cantante. Una «pâtisserie viennoise» (D. Sirk) ricca di musica e ironia. Girato a Würzburg, nel Sud della Germania, è l’unico film meridionale di Sirk.
