After a vote by online users, Nicole Vögele’s CLOSING TIME wins the Cinelab Award 2018, the prize of the online event organized by the Locarno Festival in collaboration with Festival Scope.
Celebrating its third edition, the Locarno Festival and Festival Scope online initiative presented a selection of 9 films from the Cineasti del presente competition. Each film in this section was available online the day after its premiere in Locarno and until August 31. The initiative was available worldwide and for free (with a limit of 400 tickets per film).
CLOSING TIME, which had its world premiere at Locarno71, also won the Ciné+ Special Jury Prize when it competed in the Cineasti del presente section at Locarno Festival. The film was produced by Beauvoir Films, and is sold internationally by Taskovski Films. The Cinelab Award, which provides technical services worth 22,000 €, is offered by Cinelab Bucarest.
With the aim of expanding the festival experience beyond the traditional cinemas, Festival Scope is the online platform that brings exclusive events to film lovers worldwide. It partners with the most prestigious film festivals like Venice, Berlin, Rotterdam, Cannes (La Semaine de la Critique and Directors’ Fortnight) and Clermont-Ferrand to present a hand-picked selection of films to audiences around the world.
