The White Building, an iconic structure home to 493 families in Phnom Penh, faces demolition. Director Kavich Neang follows his family and neighbors as they move out before its total destruction.
In his first documentary feature film, Kavich Neang uses the building where he grew up, now about to be demolished, as a history and identity repository for contemporary Cambodia. Multiple sketches of individual tales weave and touch each other at a rhapsodic pace, structured around spaces and those people who live and pass through them. A melodic filmic approach, reverberating with faces, voices, memories and songs.
