A young officer in the Imperial army saves the life of Pugachev, who will take part in a tragic rebellion. This major production was shot in the former Yugoslavia, with an American cast, at the behest of De Laurentiis who was inspired by War and Peace. “It’s a film for the masses, but also a history lesson”. (A.
