Marie-Pierre Macia is the founder of MPM Film and produced more than ten films, including The Turin Horse (Béla Tarr, 2011), Xenia (Panos H. Koutras, 2014), Memory Exercises (Paz Encina, 2016), Zama (Lucrecia Martel, 2017), Rafiki (Wanuri Kahiu, 2018), Hayaletler (Ghosts, Azra Deniz Okyay, 2020) and Nardjes A. (Karim Aïnouz, 2020). She’s the former Director of the Directors’ Fortnight at Cannes, where she championed first features by filmmakers such as Sofia Coppola, Carlos Reygadas, Stephen Daldry, Cristi Puiu and Cristian Mungiu. She started her career at the Cinémathèque Française and worked at the San Francisco International Film Festival. She also created the Thessaloniki International Film Festival’s industry department Agora, where she is now the Artistic Consultant of the Crossroads Co-Production.
