Information for the press
The accreditation procedures are open, more information available at the following link.
In order to allow journalists who are unable to travel to Locarno this summer to attend the event, there is also an online accreditation procedure, which will allow them to follow the program of the 74th Locarno Film Festival, or part of it, even remotely. More information about online accreditation will be announced soon.
Accreditation will be granted only upon online payment. On-site purchase is not possible.
Unlike previous years, accreditation to the Locarno Film Festival will be in electronic form only and must be shown when requested. There will be the possibility to have a badge, but it will only have a symbolic value of identification with the Locarno Film Festival, and it will help the Festival staff to easily recognize which accreditation category you belong to.
The usual Press Conference announcing the films selected for the 74th edition of the Festival will be held on July 1, 2021. The Press Conference will take place in the morning in Bern, in presence and streaming, and in the afternoon in Bellinzona.
Access to screenings on the Piazza Grande and in the other venues (including for the Press Screenings) is granted only upon seat reservation.
We remind you that accreditation does not constitute a ticket and therefore does not guarantee in any way the reservation of a seat, which must always be booked on the Festival website. Seats can be reserved up to 30 minutes before the screening, unless seats are sold out in advance, through the Locarno Film Festival website or App. It will be forbidden to enter the hall or the Piazza Grande once the screening has started.
We kindly ask that the reservation, either on paper or online, be shown on time at the entrance to the hall to avoid queues forming.
We would also like to remind you that the seat reservation also serves as a health tracking device in case of infection by Covid 19.
In order to guarantee the health of Locarno Film Festival audiences and guests, movements will be traced in two ways:
Through the reservation in the thaters and Piazza Grande (mandatory for all screenings, including Press Screenings)
By App for the press venues (such as Press Conferences, Photocall, Press Lounge) and the other public venues of the Locarno Film Festival (such as la Rotonda, Conversations with the public, Locarno Talks la Mobiliare, etc.) where reservation is not compulsory.
The Locarno Film Festival App allows you to have everything at your fingertips, at all times, on your digital devices. By logging in with your Pardo ID, the App will provide an overview of the official selection, with the plots and trailers of the films presented. But it will also allow you to build your own program, book your place in the theater and vote for the Prix du public UBS in Piazza Grande, and, for accredited people, to better organize their work thanks to special content reserved for the press and industry professionals.
To access the digital services of the Locarno Film Festival you need to create a personal Pardo ID account and log in. We remind you that for those who have been to Locarno in the past years and/or already use the Festival's digital services, the Pardo ID account will remain the same in their possession.
The Pardo ID is the access key to the Locarno Film Festival. It is the tool with which the Festival has simplified access to its program and its many initiatives. With this single account, in fact, it will be possible to access the Festival's digital services, such as the Ticket Shop and the Boutique, as well as one's personal area, through which one can view one's accreditation, consult the program, choose the screenings, reserve one's seat, purchase tickets and request one's accreditation. To live, easily and safely, the world of the Festival at 360 °.
