Screenings, guests, memorable encounters in a unique setting between the lake and the Swiss mountains... For 75 years, the Locarno Film Festival has illuminated Locarno's summers with cinema, bringing the most daring productions and talents destined to leave their mark on the Piazza Grande and its screening venues. To celebrate its anniversary in 2022, the Festival has many surprises in store.

The first is that, after two editions marked by the pandemic, this year, the event will return to being in all respects what it has always been: an appointment open to all types of audiences, to which access is unrestricted, with hundreds of film premieres presented, and many opportunities to meet and rediscover the pleasure of sharing the seventh art. But there's more because the Festival is becoming a platform active all year-round. As demonstrated by the many new projects you can already discover between August 3 and 13 in Locarno on many fronts.
