Get ready for sixteen nights of live music. 48 hours before the official opening, Rotonda by la Mobiliare is ready to welcome the Locarno public. And not just that: from Friday, July 30, to Saturday, August 14, in the spirit of “Come together!”, the new space created by the Locarno Film Festival with the main partner La Mobiliare will welcome more than 20 Swiss artists invited by Turba and RSI to play the Locarno74 soundtrack for 16 nights.
A 100% Swiss Lineup
Thanks to the Turba Cultural Association of Lugano, which curated twelve evenings, and RSI, which dropped its special carte blanche, Rotonda by la Mobiliare will be an exclusive stage for Swiss music. The 2021 edition of the Locarno Film Festival's nightlife locale is in fact entirely devoted to national DJs, songwriters, bands and artists, from all over the country and ready to satisfy any ear. In between the DJ sets of Saliva and Michel Cleis, together with Tom Alemanno, who will be the star of both the opening night on July 30 and the closing night on August 14, the Locarno public will be able to discover different genres and talents, from Chemical Fame to Katy Fusco, from Mark Kelly to Tatum Rusch, from Melodiesinfonie to Yeleen and many others.
From Dusk Till Night
Every day, for sixteen days, Rotonda by la Mobiliare will be the ideal place to "feel like a festival" in between screenings. From 6 PM to 1 AM during the week, and until 2 AM during the weekend, the space designed with artist Kerim Seiler will be the ideal stage not only for live music, but also for relaxation, 100% local food & beverage, virtual reality, families, children and - of course - cinema. In fact, the Rotonda will host all of the Festival's speaking activities, from the conversations between stars and public to the fourth edition of Locarno Talks la Mobiliare.
Space Explorers: The ISS Experience
Everything is ready to take off into space as well. The historic Piazza Grande projection booth, revisited for the occasion by BONALUMI Engineering SA together with the Image & Sound team, is ready to welcome the virtual reality of the two episodes of Space Explorers: The ISS Experience, the biggest film production ever made outside the Earth's atmosphere, presented in Locarno in collaboration with the Geneva International Film Festival. Access
Once again, the Rotonda will be cashless, with fast and secure payments. Due to the international health situation, it will have a controlled capacity compared to previous editions, to guarantee the public the chance to experience it in complete safety. Access to the Rotonda will be free, without a Covid certificate during the day and exclusively with a Covid certificate in the evening, starting at 6 PM.
