Time of special exhibitions at the Cultural centre and museum of Elisarion in Minusio. In conjunction with the Festival del film Locarno and on the occasion of its 30th anniversary, an exhibition titled “The Elisarion and its origins” will be held in its rooms to celebrate the history of the building and tell the lives of its two creators, Elisàr von Kupffer (1872–1942) and Eduard von Mayer (1873–1960), who left numerous pictures which have been restored and digitalised.

Now, for the first first time, this photographic portfolio is being shown to the public, escorted by a series of paintings, objects, letters and several other documents which will also be on display.

The exhibition reaches its height with the photographic copy of von Kupffer's Chiaro Mondo dei Beati (The Clear World of the Blessed), his major masterpice which will be shown in its original location, the Elisarion's rotunda.

During the Festival the Cultural centre and museum of Elisarion is open on Tuesday (August 7th) from 2 to 5 pm with the co-curator of the exihibition David Streiff who will carry out a guided tour in German at 4.30 pm.

“The Elisarion and its origins” will be open to the public also on Thursday (August 9th) and Saturday (August 11th) from 3 to 7 pm. On Thursday Mr Streiff will conduct another tour in French, always at 4.30 pm.
