Festival Made Green
Again this year, Festival del film Locarno receives the “myclimate neutral event” seal of approval – a mark of environmental commitment which certifies all the efforts to limit the production of CO2 produced during this 69th edition and its organization. From mobility (e. g. e-bikes, electro and hybrid cars) to the own waste management and recycling system, not to mention the reducing paper consumption, our event tries always its best to help our planet, little by little.
Moreover, all CO2 produced by Festival del film Locarno has been balanced through a high quality project in the Nepalese region Terai Arc, which includes several areas with animal and plant species worthy of protection. About 7,500 small biogas plants are being constructed and installed for farmers and their families, reducing the demand for non-sustainable firewood and diminishing CO2 emissions as a consequence of deforestation.
And since Nepal is also one of the eight countries in South Asia on which Open Doors section is focusing for the next three years, there is really no better way to celebrate our seventh “myclimate neutral event” seal.
