Two awards for the Open Doors Lab

In its second year, the Open Doors Lab finds new collaborations with Initiative Film and TorinoFilmLab, to grant a follow up for the participants from Afghanistan, Pakistan and Sri Lanka (2017).

Two new awards will be granted to two individual participants of the Open Doors Lab 2017, in collaboration with Initiative Film and Torino Film Lab.
The producers attending the Open Doors Lab program often have specific questions after the workshop; it may be on their artistic project, on which they want to gain perspective and receive an objective opinion, or on the strategy to follow in order to give visibility to the project.

Open Doors to Development - Initiative Film Grant offers a six-month follow-up at distance. This includes an analytic reading of the script, Skype consultancy meetings and coaching in the making of a presentation board, useful for approaching potential future partners.
The Open Doors – TFL award is thought to develop the winner’s contacts at the international level and boost business discussions on the projects currently being developed.
The producer will be invited to the 10th TFL Meeting Event in Torino (24 – 25 November 2017) and will integrate a group of non-European emerging producers under the label TFL Up and Coming, who will follow tailor-made activities and will have the chance to meet the attending decision makers.

Several monetary awards are also granted to the participants of the Open Doors Hub thanks to the collaborations with Visions Sud Est (supported by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation SDC), the City of Bellinzona, CNC (Centre national du cinéma et de l’image animée) and ARTE.

The Internationale Kurzfilmtage Winterthur will also select a director among the participants of the Open Doors Hub and Lab, the Pardi di domani and the Filmmakers Academy for the Residency program set up in collaboration with the city’s Villa Sträuli center.

Open Doors benefits from the faithful collaboration with the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) of the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA).
