Screenings in theaters

The Locarno Film Festival supports theatrical viewing and the added value that comes with it, both in terms of image and sound quality and as a shared experience. Because of this, as a sign of respect towards theater owners and their staff, the films will be shown in cinemas for a fee. Locarno 2020 is contributing to the reopening of local movie theaters, with a line-up of films that will be shown in three of the cinemas in Locarno and Muralto.

Tickets

The Locarno Film Festival supports theatrical viewing and the added value that comes with it, both in terms of visual and sound quality and as a shared experience. Because of this, as a sign of respect towards theater owners and their staff, the films will be shown in cinemas for a fee:

• Single ticket: CHF 12

• Discount ticket for students and trainees up to 30 years old and seniors (over 64 years old): CHF 8

Important information

Due to the current health situation, the reservation of your seat is requested for all screenings.

The use of the mask is compulsory until you reach your seat. Remember to bring your own mask!

You can book your seat up to 30 minutes before the start of the screening.

In case of authorities’ measures on max. capacity of theatres due to Covid-19, the Festival will reduce seats on a first come first served basis. Those whose access is not allowed will be entitled to a refund based on Festival’s terms&conditions

Rotonda and Garden

In compliance with current health regulations, the live events that usually complete the Locarno Film Festival program are canceled. Therefore, the initiatives of Locarno Experience – laRotonda and Locarno Garden la Mobiliare – will not take place.
