Through the stories of three women – Fadia, a psychiatrist, Raghida, a gynaecologist, and Rola, an executive – Hala Alabdalla constructs a portrait of her beloved Syria. Filming streets, towns, and houses, she gives us her personal vision of the country. "In this film, the map of my country, Syria, takes on the characteristics of my friends and the paths I took while location scouting. I talk to these paths. I confess my doubts and my certainties while searching for locations for my films." Both an intimate portrait and a documentary, I Am the One Who Brings Flowers to Her Grave combines all the films the director dreamed of making.
