Javier Chocobar was shot dead fighting the removal of his indigenous community from their ancestral land in Argentina. His death appeared in a video on YouTube. Our documentary reveals the 500 years of "reasons" that led to his fatal shooting, both with a gun and a camera, contextualizing it in the land tenure system that has shaped Latin America.

The production


Established in 2010 in Buenos Aires, Rei Cine stands out as a home to some of the most talented artists of the region including Lucrecia Martel, Adrián Villar Rojas, Valeria Bertuccelli, Gonzalo Tobal, Pablo Fendrik and Gastón Solnicki.


Co-founded by Danny Glover and Joslyn Barnes, New York-based Louverture Films produces independent films and series of historical relevance, social purpose, commercial value and artistic integrity. Among the artists they have worked with are Lucrecia Martel, Apichatpong Weerasethakul, Abderrahmane Sissako, Victor Kossakovsky and RaMell Ross.
