Last Call for Swiss works in progress!

Only a few days left to apply for the totally Swiss edition of First Look 2021

Are you a Swiss producer, with a work in progress on your hands? Then you still have a few days to submit it for First Look 2021, the Locarno Film Festival’s Industry initiative focusing on feature films in post-production, organized this year in collaboration with SWISS FILMS

With its First Look project, which gives films that are close to completion a yearly international industry platform, Locarno Pro chose to devote this year to Swiss projects, giving voice and opportunity to the most promising national productions. During the Festival the selected teams will be able to exchange ideas and contacts with spokespeople for the global production realm, growing and developing their projects further. The producers of the selected projects will present their works in progress during the Locarno Pro days specifically devoted to First Look (August 6-8) in the Rialto cinema in Muralto (Locarno) as well as on the Festival’s website in the Locarno Pro Online section, accessible only to accredited Industry and Industry Online.

The best project will receive the Cinegrell First Look Award, entailing 50,000 Swiss francs’ worth of post-production services offered by the Cinegrell company. Additional awards are offered by Le Film Français, with 5,600 euro worth of advertising, and Kaiju Cinema Diffusion, with an equivalent value of 5,000 euro  to design an international poster.

The 74th edition of the Locarno Film Fesetival will take place from 4 to 14 August 2021. The Festival team is currently working, in full compliance with official health and sanitary guidelines, towards a physical event in 2021. Should those same guidelines so require, however, the Festival reserves the option to make organizational changes which will be announced to the media and the general public in due course.

This initiative is possible thanks to the support of the Federal Office of Culture / Media Desk Suisse and the partnership with SWISS FILMS.
