This year’s music program at the Rotonda by la Mobiliare 2022 takes shape in the “Come together!” project, a series of events whose hallmarks are culture and sharing which will bring to Locarno engaging rhythms as well as fresh sounds. A selection of emerging and established musicians will animate a program aimed at actively supporting the national music scene, full of young talents to be discovered. Every evening the program will start with a support act at 8 pm, leading up to the main act at 9.30 pm. All gigs are supported by national performing rights organizations Stiftung Phonoproduzierende and Swissperform, and curated by Suzana Gostimirović (internationally experienced agent and music manager at Gostimirović Music Management) and Andi Rohrer (producer and presenter of the music program Sounds! on Radio SRF 3), plus Swiss broadcaster RSI Radiotelevisione Svizzera on the nights of 13 and 14 August.

Clubbers will be able to take over the dance floor every evening too, with DJ playlists before and after the live acts until 3 am.

A space for everyone: live shows, art, food and drink and local crafts

There’s more to “Come together!” than just the brilliant music, too, with doors opening at 6 pm. Every evening there will be street artists from both the local area and around the world, as dancers and characters from the movies, firing up la Rotonda by la Mobiliare with two surprising and exciting performances before and between the music acts. Festival-goers can also stroll around the space to admire installations created by atelier oï and Ekrem Yalçindağ, and by urban artists with their own special take on 75 years of Locarno Film Festival history. Not to mention the welcomed return of craft corners, with stalls for local crafters whose creativity will be on display at the Rotonda by la Mobiliare. Hungry and thirsty visitors will be well catered for, too, with no less than 15 food trucks in the space: the accent on local produce will blend with dishes from around the world, offering a chance to savor the taste of the territory or discover something entirely new.

Swiss National Day celebrations on 1 August

On 1 August the Rotonda by la Mobiliare will host the traditional city’s celebrations for National Day. Starting at 7:15PM, the Musica Cittadina will be at the forefront, and the official Address will be given by Mijat Marić, introduced my Mayor Alain Scherrer and followed by the Swiss national anthem. An aperitif offered by the city and the evening’s regular musical program will complete the special evening, designed especially for the local population as well as for the regular audience of the Rotonda.
