The helpful and caring Lazarus grew up in a tobacco farm, accustomed to helping everyone. But when the "great deception" to which the poor labourers are forced to submit is discovered, the boy will lose his call to the city, remaining eternally young. A parable of poignant poetry about the end of peasant civilization.
