Kanya, a tour guide but also a hotel representative automated voice, leads a foreign guest, Alex, through Bangsaen, a beach town in the east of Thailand. Since Kanya’s presentation is overtly aestheticized and strictly regimented, Alex decides to explore the town by himself, fantasizing about getting out of the frame.

This ‘video’ directed by Tulapop Saenjaroen and produced by Anocha Suwichakornpong seemingly begins as a Thai beach resort virtual tour guided by Kenya, a Siri/Alexa-like AI personal assistant. Soon, it evolves into a colourful collage of shot and found footage, animation and computer graphics, still photographs and digital effects, while the computer-generated voices of its characters reflect on ideas of image framing and subtext, mass tourism and the past, present and future of Bang Saen Beach.
