Amarcord started out in Florence. Their lyrics are in Italian, keeping up their strong ties with the singer-songwriter tradition, while their arrangements reflect and respond to major groups on the international indie rock and electro pop scenes, creating a distinctive sound that features a natural blend of influences from every member of the band. The tracks on their debut album “Vittoria” retrace the band’s career to date: from the early days via their many gigs to their participation at the Sanremo Music Festival in the Newcomers section (where they were finalists in the record publishers selection 2013 and 2014, picked by Mauro Pagani), the De André Prize and winning the 2015 RockContest. In 2016 the band received a Toscana100band award (decided by a committee headed by Max Gazzè and Taketo Gohara) and after touring to promote their album with more than 25 dates all around Italy brought out the single “A Testa Alta” (anthem of the A1 women’s volleyball team Savino del Bene) and were offered the chance to record their second album in Luciano Liguabue’s private studio.
