The Harika's touch

We want the Oscar. The Locarno Festival confirms its outlook on the future, towards a horizon of opening, a land of conquest, where even Casting Directors, key figures in a film's genesis, can have a starring role alongside colleagues from other departments. "The aim is to be recognized with an Oscar", confirms IDCN board member Beatrice Kruger, and the starting point for that is, once again, Locarno. For the second time running the Festival hosted the IDCN Casting Director Award ceremony, with Turkish casting director Harika Uygur winning the prize for her work on Deniz Gamze Ergüven's Mustang (2015).
