Collaborations on the ground

Open Doors extends its outreach program to assist industry players in the nations in focus by organizing seminars and workshops in the region concerned.
This is possible thanks to partnerships with local festivals such as MEMORY! International Film Heritage Festival (Myanmar) and more.

17 years of Open Doors

In 2019 Open Doors celebrates its 17th anniversary. Thanks to the collaboration at the outset with the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) of the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA), the sidebar is able to pursue a trio of objectives.

First and foremost, it is about drawing the attention of industry professionals and the international audience to directors and films from countries in the South and East of the world;

Secondly, to create optimal conditions for achieving and disseminating their feature film projects via a platform for discussion and professional exchange with their counterparts from Europe and elsewhere, as potential partners.

Lastly, to contribute towards the development of a local and regional independent filmmaking scene and to put their industry representatives in touch with a global network of their colleagues.

These threefold efforts are complemented by a program of promotional initiatives and professional training workshops in the region selected in close cooperation with local players.

In 2017, Open Doors celebrates its 15 years.
