Thom Andersen

Born in Chicago in 1943, Andersen makes several short films in the 1960s, including Melting (1965) and Olivia’s Place (1966). In 1996, he co-directs Red Hollywood with Noël Burch and, in 2003, he completes Los Angeles Plays Itself. In 2010, he directs Get Out of the Car and signs The Thoughts That Once We Had (2015), a personal history of cinema, loosely inspired by Gilles Deleuze’s books on cinema. Andersen also teaches at the California Institute of the Arts.
