Siyah güneş (Black Sun)
A coming storm after dog days dawns during a road trip to an island for a funeral. The deceased is buried in haste and a man makes a detour through Aegean Turkey. The funeral is eclipsed by a last wish.
Black Sun’s languor and melancholy take the viewer on a journey lulled by emotions as sweet as they are dazzling. The reunion of loved ones, the loss of one of them are disrupted by uncontrollable natural elements that let a particular atmosphere soar throughout the film. By carefully capturing how family ties and everyday moments survive inevitable events, the director Arda Çiltepe succeeds in making a deep and moving short film.Charlotte Corchète
