Sophie  Bourdon

A French citizen resident in Switzerland, Bourdon took a degree in Anglo-American studies, communications and film at Paris X University and the American University CSU Fullerton, before beginning her career in public relations with L'Oréal and later in advertising with DMB&B in Paris.  

She then gained twenty years of experience in various areas of the film industry, including international sales (particularly for MK2), co-production and professional training, as Head of the Ateliers du Cinéma Européen (ACE). For four years, she worked as an advisor for the Industry activities of the Locarno Film Festival, now integrated under the Locarno Pro label. Since 2016 she has been Head of Open Doors, the Locarno Film Festival section that highlights directors and films from countries in the Global South and East, while since 2018 she has also been Deputy Head of Locarno Pro.
