Guests and film delegations will be invited to the 74th edition of the Locarno Film Festival. At the following link, you can find all confirmed talents coming to Locarno.
In order to avoid crowds, the public unfortunately will not be admitted to the open zone of the red carpet, and therefore, photographs and autographs cannot be asked.
La Rotonda will be organized this year according to a new concept, and all current health regulations will be respected in this space as well. Access to la Rotonda from 6 pm, will be guaranteed to those who can show a Covid certificate.
During the day, on the contrary, to participate in the Conversations with the public, the use of masks, social distancing, and contact tracing by Mindful App will apply.
Season tickets, daily tickets and single tickets can be purchased online at the Locarno Film Festival Ticket Shop. There will be a dedicated service to contact for those who have problems with purchasing or reserving tickets online.
Access to screenings on the Piazza Grande and in the other venues of the Locarno Film Festival is allowed only upon seat reservation.
You can reserve your seat up to 30 minutes before the screening, unless seats are sold out in advance, via the Locarno Film Festival website or App. It will be forbidden to enter the theater or the Piazza Grande once the screening has started.
Regarding Piazza Grande, Palexpo (FEVI) and la Rotonda can be accessed only with a Covid certificate combined with a seat reservation, whereas in the other theaters contact tracing, social distancing and use of masks will apply.
We kindly ask you to show your reservation, either on paper or online, on time at the entrance to the theater to avoid queues forming. We also remind you that the seat reservation also serves as a health tracking device in case of Covid-19 infection.
The films of Piazza Grande will be shown also at La Sala, which is accessible without a Covid certificate but by wearing a mask and keeping distance.
In Switzerland, all vaccines that have been authorized by the Federal Office of Public Health, by the European Medicines Agency for the European Union, or by the World Health Organization are accepted. For more information about entering Switzerland, visit the website of the Swiss Confederation.
Vaccination isn’t the only way to access restricted areas to those who have a Covid certificate. We remind you that you can also obtain a Covid certificate if you have recovered from the illness no more than six months ago with or with a negative PCR test or rapid antigen test, more information on the website of the Federal Office of Public Health (FOPH).
You can get tested in pharmacies and in the hospital La Carità in Locarno. In addition, the Festival is planning to set up a test center. The cost of the tests is covered by the health insurance for Swiss citizens, whereas for visitors from other countries, one test will cost CHF 50.
In case of symptoms, please avoid every kind of contact and leave your accommodation only to do a Covid test. If the result is positive, you will be contacted by the cantonal service for contact tracing. We recommend preparing a list with the contacts you’ve had and the places you’ve been in the 48 hours before your symptoms appeared. You can find the rules of the Federal Office of Public Health here.
In all the theaters where no Covid certificate is required, wearing masks and keeping distance will be compulsory. The capacity will be reduced to two-thirds to guarantee the required distance between the participants. Also, in the Palexpo (FEVI), wearing masks will be compulsory. In Piazza Grande and la Rotonda, wearing masks will be optional.
The Festival provides its own masks, which can be purchased at the Info Points, online at the Locarno Film Festival Shop and at Boutique Manor.
