From their ’Purple House’ in the South of Lebanon, French-Iraqi director Abbas Fahdel and his Lebanese wife, the painter Nour Ballouk, start exploring a multifaceted country that seems to be on the edge of the abyss. Guided only by their perspective, each of them tries, through their art, to grasp the beauty and hardships of a generous country that struggles to feed its children.

Can art save us? It’s the question we try to answer, with undying faith in the power of images as a visual Noah’s Ark in times of flooding.
