Open Doors Hub Awards

The Open Doors jury has decided to award the following prizes to three projects among those participating in the Open Doors Hub 2018, to support their production or development: 

Open Doors Grant 
An Open Doors award financed by the Swiss film production support fund visions sud est (also backed by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation SDC) together with the City of Bellinzona:

Support for production (35,000 CHF)
THE WOMEN (MA) by The Maw Naing, Myanmar

Support for development (15,000 CHF)
MOTHER (AMMA) by Sanjeewa Pushpakumara, Sri Lanka / France

CNC Prize (8'000 Euro)
SAND CITY by Mahde Hasan, Bangladesh

ARTE International Open Doors Prize (6'000 Euro)

Open Doors - Sørfond Award
For the first time the Norwegian South Film Fund Sørfond has awarded a prize allowing one of the Hub projects to take part in its platform Pitching from the
THE WOMEN (MA) by The Maw Naing, Myanmar

In 2018, the Open Doors Jury was composed by Emilie Bujès (Visions Sud Est), Walter Ruggle (Visions Sud Est), Annamaria Lodato (ARTE France) and Per Eirik Gilsvik (Sørfond).

Open Doors Lab Awards
For the second year in a row, the TorinoFilmLab (TFL) has offered a grant allowing one of the producers to take part in the TFL Meeting Event in Turin on November 2018, as part of a group of non-European producers, under the label “Up and Coming”.

Residency Internationale Kurzfilmtage Winterthur @ Villa Sträuli

The Winterthur International Short Film Festival, in collaboration with Villa Sträuli and the Locarno Festival, offers a two-month residency to applicants in the Open Doors, Leopards of Tomorrow and Filmmakers Academy programs who are from Africa, Asia, Eastern Europe or Latin America.
