Maximilien studied digital and analog photography at the European Institute of Design (IED). He began writing and directing short films already as a teenager. His debut feature, the mockumentary The Gerber Syndrome (2011), had a successful festival run and was distributed on digital platforms in 47 countries. In 2016, he co-directed the creative feature documentary When We Talk About KGB (2016) with Lithuanian director Virginija Vareikyté. He also works as the festival strategist and promoter of the film, which has been screened so far at Trieste Film Festival, Full Frame Documentary Film Festival, Transylvania Film Festival, Docs MX, Doc Point and many others. Following an internship at Taskovski Films, in 2016 he joined the Lithuanian production company Just a Moment, where he is working as sales and festival manager. Currently he is preparing to co-direct a new feature documentary film Virginija Vareikyté, to also be co-produced by his production company M&N.
