Film critic, film club organiser and festival curator, Roberto Turigliatto has been the cinema programmer of the National Museum of Cinema in Turin, and director of the Torino Film Festival together with Giulia D’Agnolo Vallan. He has also been a member of the selection committee of the Venice Film Festival and has collaborated with other Italian festivals.
Since 1991 he is one of the the authors of Fuori Orario, a program of the Italian broadcaster Rai 3.
Since 2008 he is part of the artistic staff of the Locarno Festival, first as member of the selection committee then as the curator of the retrospectives. He also collaborates with the Estoril & Lisbon Film Festival, the Rotterdam Film Festival and with I Mille Occhi Festival in Trieste.
He curated several retrospectives and published various books dedicated to the nouvelles vagues in the sixties, the contemporary Portuguese and French cinema, as well as to established directors such as Garrel, Paulo Rocha, Kieslowski, Skolimowski, Robert Kramer, Pollet, Carpenter, De Oliveira, Straub e Huillet, Bressane, Sganzerla, Debord, Chabrol, and Godard.
