L’immagine e la parola
Since 2013 this literary spin-off from Festival del film Locarno has been one of the events – together with Eventi Letterari Monte Verità and Youtopia – that make up the spring-time festival of literature and the arts called Primavera Locarnese. L’immagine e la parola explores in depth the rapport between written word and moving image.
Four days of screenings, forums and round tables, enhanced by outstanding personalities whose work has moved between both fields (directors such as Aleksandr Sokurov and Edgar Reitz, and writer Emmanuel Carrère), with a special focus on the younger audience. A wide range of educational initiatives features workshops dedicated to film students and young international filmmakers.
Headed by Locarno’s Artistic Director Carlo Chatrian in tandem with the Italian critic Daniela Persico, L’immagine la parola takes place mainly in two venues: Locarno’s Kursaal theater and the Monte Verità at Ascona.
