European coproductions, crowdfundung and the challenges of film adaptation from a play

After the opening meeting with Executive Director of the Israel Film Fund Katriel Schory and the Board member of the George Foundation (Winterthur) Walter Hügli, the 38 young international participants of the Summer Academy will meet today: the producers Luc Déry (micro_scope, Montréal, Canada) and Tero Kaukomaa (Blind Spot Pictures, Helsinki, Finland) who will focus on different financing issues. Luc Déry, producer of MONSIEUR LAZAR (dir. P. Falardeau, Canada, 2011) which was screened on the Piazza on Monday 8th, will also focus on the peculiar aspects of literary adaptation. Both Déry and Kaukomaa will be hosted Simon Perry, president of the Ateliers Cinématographiques Européens ACE who will bring some case studies on European coproductions. The meetings take place at Magistrale–SUPSI. The official working language is english.

promoting and financing films using the web;

about his work, his film in Locarno MONSIEUR LAZHAR, dir. Philippe Falardeau (Canada 2011), and doing a short case-
study of INCENDIES, dir. Denis Villeneuve (Canada/ France, 2010).
