Locarno in Toronto
18 films of the 2012 selection of the Festival del film Locarno, of which 10 presented in Locarno as world premieres, were selected at the Toronto International Film Festival, that will be held 6-16 September in the Canadian city.
Seven films of the Concorso internazionale (Locarno international competition) were selected at Toronto: A Ultima Vez Que Vi Macau by João Rui Guerra da Mata and João Pedro Rodrigues, Berberian Sound Studio by Peter Strickland, The End of Time by Peter Mettler, Leviathan by Lucien Castaing-Taylor and Véréna Paravel, Museum Hours by Jem Cohen, Polvo by Julio Hernández Cordón and Wo hai you hua yao shuo (When Night Falls) by Liang Ying (Pardo per la migliore regia - Leopard for Best Director to Liang Ying and Pardo per la miglior interpretazione femminile - Leopard for Best Actress to An Nai).
Of the Piazza Grande selection will be screened at the Canadian Festival Lore by Cate Shortland (Prix du Public UBS - Audience Award), More Than Honey by Markus Imhoof, Motorway by Soi Chean, No by Pablo Larraín and Sightseers by Ben Wheatley.
