Locarno in Paris: 25–27 September 2012
The Swiss Cultural Centre in Paris presents, for the third consecutive year, a "Carte Blanche" program to the Festival del film Locarno. The first evening, on Tuesday 25 September, will be dedicated to the Festival’s award winning films, with the 2012 Golden Leopard (Pardo d’oro) La Fille de nulle part by Jean-Claude Brisseau, Somebody Up There Likes Me by Bob Byington (Premio speciale della giuria), Wo hai you hua yao shuo (When Night Falls) by Liang Ying (Leopards for best director and best actress) and Inori by Pedro González-Rubio (Pardo d’oro Cineasti del presente). The following evening, on Wednesday 26 September, A Última Vez Que Vi Macau by João Rui Guerra da Mata and João Pedro Rodrigues, Leviathan by Lucien Castaing-Taylor and Véréna Paravel, and Playback by Sho Miyake will be screened. The last evening, on Thursday 27 September, will be dedicated to short films; a program of award winning shorts from the Pardi di domani section will start the evening, followed by a program of Corti d’artista (experimental and radical shorts) and a program of Corti d’autore (shorts by established filmmakers and well-known personalities in the film industry).
