Carlo Chatrian’s mandate as Artistic Director has been extended to 2020, as part of the previously announced restructuring and development of the Locarno Film Festival’s organigram, intended to enhance the event’s overall infra-structure. The new duties of the Deputy Artistic Director Nadia Dresti and Deputy COO Raphaël Brunschwig will come into effect as of January 1, 2017.

The Executive Board has appointed Nadia Dresti – currently Delegate of the Artistic Director and Head of International, to the post of Deputy Artistic Director, and Raphaël Brunschwig, Head of Sponsorship, to that of Deputy COO. For the meantime they will maintain their current responsibilities. The appointments ratified by the Board on July 12 will take effect as of January 1, 2017. During the same meeting, the Board of Directors accepted the Presidency’s proposal to extend the contract of the Artistic Director Carlo Chatrian until 2020.

Nadia Dresti

Nadia Dresti (born in Locarno) began her career in the movie business in 1984, with the Festival del film Locarno. In 1988 she joined the 20th Century Fox-Columbia TriStar Office in Geneva as Marketing Director for Switzerland. In 1990 she founded her own company, Zero Problem, specialized in film promotion, public and press relations. In 1998 she began working with the Marché du Film de Cannes and the European Film Market (EFM) in Berlin. Meanwhile, in 1999, she became a member of the Locarno Festival Selection Committee and was nominated Head of the Locarno Industry Office. In 2006 Nadia Dresti was nominated Delegate of the Artistic Direction of the Festival del film Locarno and, in 2013 she became Head of International in 2013. Since 2012 she is a member of the Federal Commission for Cinema (CFC).

Raphaël Brunschwig

Raphaël Brunschwig, born in 1984 in Zurich, began his career at publisuisse, remaining there for 9 years, covering a variety of functions, including Senior Media Planner and Project Manager Crossmedia. In 2013 he began working with the Festival del film Locarno, initially as Sponsorship Coordinator, then the following year taking over full responsibility for this area. In addition to his sponsorship duties, he is responsible for the project to renovate the cinema Ex*Rex.
