Who can apply?
For Open Doors Hub and Lab 2020, filmmakers and producers from the following countries can apply with a project:
Laos, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Myanmar, Indonesia, Malaysia, The Philippines and Mongolia.
How to apply?
Submission for Open Doors Hub and Lab is done in 2 mandatory steps:
1. Complete the official Entry Form at opendoorsefo.pardo.ch.
General information will be requested such as contact details, title of the project, techical data, etc.
2. Follow the instruction at the end of the Entry Form to submit the full requested documentation.
This same procedure is valid for application to both the Open Doors Hub and Lab.
The dadline to submit the application including the documentation is 15 January 2020.

HUB AND LAB - What is the difference?
The Hub and Lab are two different programs, which are part of the Open Doors section at Locarno Festival. They aim to foster independent filmmaking in the region in two different ways.
The Open Doors Hub provides a platform for feature-length projects at a more advanced stage of development, for teams who wish and are ready to connect to international professionals and start collaborations.
The Open Doors Lab, is a training workshop for producers. They are also invited to apply with a feature-length project. They will follow a program made of group sessions and 1to1 consultancy meetings with tutors and experts to understand how to best approach the international film market.
Depending on your profile and the advancement of your project, you can evaluate for which program you whish to apply (applying for both is possible).
Who can apply?
This service's overall objective is to support producers and filmmakers from the focus region of Open Doors 2016-2018 (South Asia) and 2019-2021 (Souteasth Asia and Mongolia).
All professionals may apply, whether or not they have already taken part in other Open Doors programs.
It opens 3 times a year through a call for submissions and the first 30 valid applications will be taken into consideration for the final selection, that will choose 8 projects for a remote (online) consultancy with international experts.
Professionals can apply for only one of these subjects (depending on their need): screenwriting, co-production and financing strategy, editing, international distribution - sales, festivals and legal aspects & contracts.
For the opening winter session 2019 the consultancy is especially dedicated to the following South Asian countries: Afghanistan, Pakistan, Bhutan, Nepal, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Myanmar and Maldives.
From the spring session 2020 on, the service will be open also to Southeast Asian countries (Laos, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Myanmar, Indonesia, Malaysia, The Philippines) and Mongolia.

Submission for Open Doors Consultancy is done in 2 mandatory steps:
1. Complete the official entry form at odconsultancyefo.locarnofestival.ch (available from 12 December 2019 05.00 AM). General information will be requested such as contact details, title of the project, techical data, etc.
2. Follow the instruction at the end of the entry form to submit the full requested documentation in one PDF file.
The first call for submissions will be open for 48 hours from 12 December 05.00 AM CET until 14 December 05.00 AM CET.
