Open Doors Consultancy

The Open Doors Consultancy offers remote (online) one-to-one professional advice by international experts for film projects at different stages of development. It’s dedicated to producers and filmmakers who seek support on specific challenges regarding one of the following topics:

  • script
  • co-production and financing strategy
  • editing
  • international distribution (sales,  festival,...)
  • legal aspects & contracts

The program will open 3 calls for entries each year, selecting around 8 projects per call that will benefit from consultancy, chosen by a committee of international professionals.

The online consultancy services will be provided to the selected project-holders by experts of the abovementioned fields.  For the first call, the consultancies to the selected projects are foreseen to happen between January and February 2020.

This service is addressed to the community of filmmakers and producers in the Asian regions in focus at Open Doors in recent years: South Asia and Southeast Asia + Mongolia.

The first upcoming session of 2019 is especially dedicated to 8 countries in South Asia: Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Maldives, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
Later sessions will be open also to the current focus region of Southeast Asia + Mongolia.

Professionals from eligible countries that may or may not have already taken part in Open Doors programs (Hub & Lab) are eligible to apply.

Submissions for the first call 2019 of Open Doors Consultancy will be possible for 48 hours from 12 December 05.00 AM CET until 14 December 05.00 AM CET.

Please note: only the first 30 eligible applications will be considered, according to time and date of entry. This means that projects will participate on a first come first served basis!

We encourage you to start working on your files from now in order to have your projects ready to upload when the submission will be possible.
