Locarno is on the Aegean
The 3rd Thessaloniki-Locarno Industry Academy International
For the third year running, the Locarno Festival looks over the Aegean Sea. In order to understand and then interpret the future, the shores of Lake Maggiore are not enough. The Locarno Festival, which becomes the international hub for the film industry in August, is well aware of this. Therefore, for the third consecutive year, it has cast its nets into the Aegean. Today marks the start of the third edition of the Thessaloniki-Locarno Industry Academy International, the Greek branch of the ever-expanding tree of worldwide Locarno academies. From Brazil to Lebanon, from Chile to the United States and Mexico, the Festival's eye, or rather its operational arm regarding the film industry continues to offer moments that will prove essential in building tomorrow's filmmaking and training its professionals.
Now in its 59th edition, making it one of the longest international festivals, the Thessaloniki International Film Festival couldn't not be one of the homes for our Academy and so, after the first two editions in 2016 and 2017, this year will again allow eight young people to experience five highly industrial days within the TIFF program. From November 5 to November 10, against the wonderful Thessaloniki backdrop, an intense and interesting program will allow the Academy participants to interact with film professionals from all over the world to start imagining a future starring them.
