Retrospettiva George Cukor

A Double Life

USA  ·  1947  ·  35 mm  ·  Black and White  ·  104'  ·  o.v. English

A Broadway actor identifies himself so completely with his stage role as Othello that he develops a split personality which drives him to jealousy of his ex-wife, the murder of a waitress and finally to suicide as he performs the famous last scene. “What made it interesting was the theatrical background, which was very authentic” (Cukor).
