Retrospettiva George Cukor

A Star Is Born

USA  ·  1954  ·  DCP  ·  Color  ·  181'  ·  o.v. English

Singer Esther Blodgett achieves stardom, but her husband Norman Maine, the man who first believed in her, spirals downward to alcoholism, ruin and finally suicide. Cukor’s first film in CinemaScope, and in color, was also “the best, most realistic and most concrete picture of Hollywood ever made from the inside”, according to Jacques Lourcelles.
