Histoire(s) du cinéma: Cinéma suisse redécouvert
Jean, aged 35, happens to find a picture in a photo booth. This leads to unusual encounters and strange romantic relationships… From the lake to the mountains, this lyrical work tells the story of a man’s interior journey as he revisits his memory. “It’s a film about the symbolic order of love; as the other one says, the unconscious has its own language, and speaks the language of cinema (…). Basically, it’s a kind of fantastical thriller about Oedipus, narrated by the protagonist’s great grandson, a child of electronics and vodka-cola” (Francis Reusser). The film’s premiere was held at the Directors’ Fortnight in Cannes in 1981, and it also screened in Locarno and San Sebastián.
