Smert Menya  (The Death of Father Men)

Russia  ·  2018  ·  DCP  ·  Color  ·  12'  ·  o.v. No Dialogue

Alexander Vladimirovich Men was a Russian Orthodox priest, theologian and writer, whose influence is still widely spread among Christians in Russia and elsewhere. The Death of Father Men uses the vast data about the Russian railroad system as a way to track the events of his assassination, by an ax-wielding assailant just outside his home of Semkhoz, in September 1990.

Eligible as Locarno’s short film nominee for the European Film Awards 2018.
