Histoire(s) du cinéma: Pardo d'onore Manor John Waters

A Dirty Shame

USA  ·  2004  ·  35 mm  ·  Color  ·  88'  ·  o.v. English

Tracey Ullman stars as sexually repressed Sylvia Stickles, whose rampant sexual appetite is unlocked after she suffers an accidental concussion in a traffic collision. Johnny Knoxville is the “Sex Saint” who encourages her descent into joyful depravity.

After encountering Knoxville’s Jackass: The Movie (2002) for the first time in a suburban shopping mall in the early 2000s, Waters was stunned to see heterosexual fathers and sons good naturedly bonding over their shared love of gross-out material − exactly the kind of thing he had spent decades building a countercultural career on. This shameless 2004 sleaze fest, Waters’ final feature film to date, is his answer to Knoxville & Co.
