Retrospettiva: Black Light

Ganja & Hess

USA  ·  1973  ·  DCP  ·  Color  ·  112'  ·  o.v. English

Bill Gunn paints a portrait of vampirism in the black upper class through oneiric visuals and a feverish sound design. This film was chopped up beyond recognition and buried in repertoires around the US.

This version, saved by scholar Pearl Bowser, represents the director’s cut of the film, restored by the Museum of Modern Art in New York from a 35 mm negative, with support from the Film Foundation.
