Black Hole

France  ·  2019  ·  DCP  ·  Color  ·  69'  ·  o.v. English/Bengali

In Calcutta, Trupti Jayin is a renowned hypnotherapist specialized in guiding her patients through their past incarnations. Meanwhile a group of ghost hunters tracks the restless spirits that haunt the city.

The presences perceived by the various characters in Black Hole are from the spirit realm. The film takes its cue from India’s colonial history to explore its traces in contemporary society. Intangible, yet so evident in the trances of those who still see a past soaked in blood and a present haunted by ghosts. A journey through the unconscious that yields a new representation of the repressed.
