A railway station in the fog. Railway tracks trailing off into the white void, a person waiting. Between wafts of mist, a fox sniffing the wind comes into view. Then a roar, shimmering light, silence. And still fog. Views of the countryside blend with fleeting encounters. Humans who inhabit worlds of their own: an astronomer, a musician, a groom. All are driven by silent longing: for contact, connectedness and an unfettered point of view. Far from providing explanations, the film attempts to help us perceive our inner hum, reaching out for an ungraspable emptiness.
