Agustina Llambi Campbell
Agustina Llambi Campbell was born in Buenos Aires in 1981. She studied at the Universidad del Cine (FUC). In 2005 she joined Pablo Trapero as production director at Matanza Cine for films such as Born and Bred (2006), Lion’s Den (2008) and Carancho (2010) by Trapero. In 2011 she founded the independent production company La Unión de los Rios. Its debut production was Santiago Mitre’s first feature El estudiante (2011, Premio speciale della giuria in Locarno’s Cineasti del presente section and at BAFICI). In 2012, she presented Alejandro Fadel’s first feature The Wild Ones at the Semaine de la Critique in Cannes. In 2015, El cielo del Centauro by Hugo Santiago was the opening film at BAFICI and Paulina (2015), Santiago Mitre’s second feature, was presented at the Semaine de la Critique in Cannes, where it obtained the Nespresso Grand Prix as well as the FIPRESCI Prize for a film in the Parallel Sections in Cannes.
